Chicago Companies had a working fire today @ 1356 s Fairfield. Engine 107 had a 2 sty vacant “Red X” building with fire in the rear and attic. 107 had two lines lead out as well as the use of their deck gun. Squad 1 was flowing water from the snorkel for a while. Companies never entered the building. Here are some of my pictures.

Chicago companies had a working fire @ 3224 s May yesterday. Engine 29 found a 3-sty multi-family with fire in the attic. Engines 28 & 29 each had lines lead out. Trucks 33 & 8 had their mains to the roof with members chopping holes for ventilation. Here are some of my pictures.

This is a place I very seldom get out to … I was halfway close so I took a ride. They were planning for something big I guess, but it was over when I arrived. I suspect some kind of machinery fire. I did manage to get some decent rig shots, and I experimented with a little fill flash too. I have never really seen the 2-piece Carol Stream Squad … kinda neat. The shots of the Lombard engine hooked up to the hydrant will make a good entry in my Suburban Rigs at Work Volume 2 someday …

Bensenville had a full still today at 202 s Mason. Engine 18 had heavy smoke showing O/A from the attic. Battalion 17 requested a full still which brought rigs from surrounding departments including Carol Stream D/C 28. I arrived well into the fire. Here are some of my pictures.

This from Erik Haak:
At 1631hrs on Friday afternoon, the Englewood Fire Alarm Office dispatched a working fire response to 1650 W. 75th Place. At 1634hrs, Truck 50 confirmed a working fire in a 50×100 1-story ordinary commercial structure. Truck 50 reported a possible truss roof and almost immediately called for the Still & Box. Battalion 20 set up defensive operations with Engine 129 operating in sector 1 and Tower Ladder 39 setting up in a lot to the east of the fire building. Squad 5’s snorkle operated on the parkway to the east of the building as well. At 1656hrs, 2-2-5 pulled a 2-11. Tower Ladder 34 was set up to the west of the fire building at the end of Paulina Street. The first photo taken in my series was shot nearly an hour after the fire started. The 2-11 was struck out at 1821hrs and companies stayed on scene chasing hot spots until just before 2000hrs.

The first of Franklin Park’s new engines is in service. I caught Engine 1 with their new rig at a working fire on 2-14-13. I arrived well after the fire was out, but here is a picture of their new engine 1 that is in Full Service.

This from Steve Redick:
Took in a code 4 on the way home from the fao today…I arrived way late but got some nice rig shots. Fire building appeared to have a lot of stuff piled up inside..doesn’t look they were able to make much of an interior attack because of it. The location was the corner of Albion and Kilpatrick. It was nice to see the Evanston tiller set up..the Lincolnwood tower looks like it was positioned to be used, but not sure if it ever was utilized.
