Vintage Chicago FD

This from Eric Haak:

For #TBT. I wanted to share these great color images taken in the Summer of 1963 of Truck 49 and Engine 126 outside of their quarters. No idea who the lucky young man is.

Vintage 4-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-17-92 (more)

This from Steve Redick:

Here’s an interesting artifact. A list compiled of all the working fires during the West Town gas explosions, compiled by the FAO using a radio log as a template. I’m not sure who made it up or if it’s completely accurate but it’s a pretty cool document.

This from Mike Summa for #TBT:

For TBT – With the 50th Anniversary of the Orland Fire Protection District this year, here is a glimpse of their pre-district days.  It is a tanker built on a 1940’s International chassis.  If anyone knows more information, please feel free to inform.

Palos Heights Fire Department history

This from Wayne Stuart for #TBT:

With all the new ambulances appearing on the site I thought I would dip into the archives and give a look into the past with this 1966 Cadillac manufactured by the Superior Professional Car  Company. It was a Crowne Royale model and was operated by the Palos Heights Fire Department. The photo was taken in 1979.
