Bensenville had a full still today at 202 s Mason. Engine 18 had heavy smoke showing O/A from the attic. Battalion 17 requested a full still which brought rigs from surrounding departments including Carol Stream D/C 28. I arrived well into the fire. Here are some of my pictures.

Bill Friedrich submitted images of two recent deliveries that were mentioned this week for Bensenville and Carol Stream.
Engine 87 is a 2011 Toyne pumper with a Spartan Metro Star cab and chassis. The top-mount pumper has a 1,500-GPM pump with 790 gallons of water. Bill Friedrich photo

Al Schlick found Bensenville‘s new engine on the Toyne, Inc. website HERE. It is a top-mount pumper on a Spartan Metro-Star chassis with a 1,500-GPM pump and 750 gallons of water. The unit was completed for delivery on 9/2/11.

The Bensenville Fire Department has placed an order for a new engine from Toyne on a Spartan Metro Star chassis. The engine will have a 1,500-GPM pump, a 750-gallon water tank, and a 30-gallon foam tank. Delivery is expected in the fourth quarter of this year.
When the new engine goes into service as engine 87, Engine 86, the 1994 Pierce Arrow will be assigned to their fire academy.
