Bolingbrook Fire Department patch

The Bolingbrook Fire Department in MABAS Division 16, has been added to the site. Bolingbrook runs out of five stations. Each station has a suppression company and all but Station 5 run a medic unit. The suppression company at Station 1 is a jump company utilizing either the engine or the truck depending on the nature of the dispatch. As mentioned previously, a new engine is on order for Station 5, and a new medic unit will be in service before the year ends.

Missing from the images posted on the site are a 1992 Seagrave reserve engine at Station 4, and two large trailers. One at Station 4 carries a Gator AWD unit, and one at Station 5 houses the technical rescue equipment.

The medic unit running out of Station 1 was formerly owned by Air Angels, Inc. which went out of business in February of 2009. Air Angels operated ground medical transport and helicopter transport. In 2008, an Air Angels helicopter crashed.

The Lisle-Woodridge Fire Protection District in MABAS Division 16 has taken delivery of a 2011 Pierce Arrow XT 100′ rear mount tower ladder. Truck 537, which will be assigned to Station 3, is not yet in service. The new truck has a 2,000-GPM pump and carries 300 gallons of water.

More changes in Naperville

The Naperville Fire Department (MABAS Division 16) has made a fleet and manning change. The 1997 E-ONE Cyclone for Squad 8 has been taken out of service and stripped of its equipment. It’s current disposition is most likely to be sold. The Spartan/Crimson engine from Station 1 has been moved to Station 8 and will be the new Squad 8 with most of the vehicle extrication gear assigned to the squad. The balance of the squad’s equipment has been moved to the technical rescue truck (TRT) and the dive equipment is on the water rescue truck (WRT).

Naperville will be down one suppression company on the street. There will be no layoffs, but three vacant positions for FF/PM will not be filled

Thanks to Lieutenant Andy Hilk for updating us.
