Former York Center FPD Engine 71 has been serving the Thornton, TX VFD as Engine 1. Prior to serving in Thornton, it ran with the Groesbeck VFD as Engine 1, also in Texas.

Attached is a new order for the York Center Fire Protection District. It is a Marion Body Works 19’ custom van body with a Ford F-650 chassis for their technical rescue team. Features include, lumber storage racks for trench rescue, fin form storage racks, underbelly boxes, a pull-out awning, and additional above cab storage in the box area. This is using Marion Body Works’ Van Body and Custom engineered vehicle line to meet the needs and budget for special response vehicles. It will be delivered spring summer 2021.

A fire Thursday morning caused extensive damage to a vacant townhouse on the 2S700 block of Avenue La Tours West near Oak Brook.
York Center Fire Protection District firefighters were called to the scene in unincorporated DuPage County at 5:25 a.m. and found the townhouse completely engulfed in flames. The townhouse was being renovated at the time and no one was inside.
Firefighters from York Center, Oak Brook, Lombard, and Villa Park responded. The cause of the blaze is under investigation by the DuPage County Fire Investigation Task Force.
