Homewood Acres receives engine

This from Keith Grzadziel:

I just passed the Homewood Acres station and spotted another “new” engine parked alongside the X-Burbank Mack. It is the X-Plainfield Engine 1912, a Ford C8000/Pierce. Not sure of the year or GPM but I know it has a 1000 gal capacity. Sorry about the crude pics I attached, but its a sneak peek. Have a safe holiday weekend!

Bridgeview house fire

Keith Grzadziel informs us of the following:

“Today at 04:00 hrs, the Bridgeview Fire Department was dispatched for the reported house fire on the 7400 block of Thomas Ave. Battalion 40 arrived on scene advising of moderate smoke showing from a split level single family home. As the inital crew was preparing to make entry, the kitchen flashed over shortly followed by the front room. The alarm was quickly escalated to a Full Still assignment. Two lines were used to extinguish the fire and the roof was opened up by Roberts Park Ladder 31. The residents were home at the time of the fire and escaped uninjured. Bridgeview Companies were also assisted by Bedford Park and Burbank.”
