River Forest FD apparatus update

River Forest Truck 219 was put back in service on 4/1/14. Repairs to the cab were made and a new ladder installed. Other additions include a reverse camera and a slim line LED lightbar across the center of the grill.

City firefighters and paramedics get suspension

WGNTV.com has an article about Chicago firefighters and paramedics being suspended as a result of a 2009 investigation.

The Chicago Fire Department has suspended 16 more firefighters and paramedics for falsifying claims for mileage reimbursement; a 17th firefighter has already retired. In 2009, the firefighters together collected more than $35,000 in reimbursements for miles they never actually drove; they’ll be suspended for between 30 and 45 days. The city’s inspector general has recommended they be fired, but it’s unlikely they’ll lose their jobs.

Yesterday, Madison and Karlov. Came in as a storefront fire, came to find out the building shared a common basement with some adjoining buildings. The 2-11 was basically for some extra truckmen. Really nothing to see from the outside. The rear of the fire building had a 1-story section with a bow string truss. A few shots from my quick walk around.

Here is the information for our 6^th Annual Golf Tournament to benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The tournament is co-hosted this year by the Addison and Glenside Fire Protection Districts and is sponsored by the Addison Professional Firefighters (IAFF Local 4727), the Glenside Professional Firefighters (IAFF Local 3277) and the Hanover Park Professional Firefighters (IAFF Local 3452).
