True, but I have seen one fail when it was being used to backflow what turned out to be a clogged dry hydrant.

The white hard suction is made out of plastic and used for drafting only. No one in the burbs uses them for hydrant hook ups

The white suction hoses are also probably rated for suction only and not pressure, meaning they can not be used to connect to a pressurized water source like the suction hose Chicago uses when they connect to hydrants at greater alarm fires.

The new one is labeled R because they were running it as a reserve until station 4 opened i believe it’s running front line now. Station 4 opened the 1st of this month

Why are the newer Ambulances labeled R?

The white hard suction is plastic not rubber that’s why its white and about 100 lbs lighter to carry

Very sharp. The white suction hoses are a bit different.
