The Gary Fire Department operated this 1968 Mack C85FAD model aerial. It carried serial #1429 had a 100′ Maxim ladder and a 200 gallon booster tank. It ran as TRUCK Co. 5 originally and then as TRUCK Co’s 2 and 8.

The Gary Fire Department operated three 1986 Mack MC686FC / 3D Metals pumpers. They were originally assigned to Engine Companies 1, 4, and 9. These had 1500-GPM pumps and 500-gallon tanks. They carried serial #’s 1206, 1207, and 1208 respectively. As with most Gary apparatus, they served in many different companies during their career.

More Robbins FD history from Wayne Stuart
The Robbins Fire Department also operated this 1965 Mack, Serial #1402. It ran as Engine 2943 with a 1000 GPM pump and a 500 Gallon tank. I do not know if it had previous ownership or if it still exists. This photo was taken in 1986.

The Gary Fire Department operated this 1977 Ward LaFrance pumper. It carried WLF serial # 80-1400. It had a 1500-GPM pump and a 500-gallon tank. It was originally assigned to Engine Company #1. However as with most Gary apparatus it served in many different companies during it’s career. It was also one of only two lime green apparatus operated by the GFD.

The Gary Fire Department operated these 1979 Ford/E-1 pumpers. They had 1250-GPM pumps and 500-gallon tanks. They carried E-One serial numbers 1361,1362,1363, and 1364. They were assigned to many different companies over their long careers.

The Calumet City Fire Department operated this 1974 Mack pumper. It had a 1250 GPM pump and a 500 gallon tank. It ran for many years as Engine Co. 306 from Fire Station #1. It is the one and only lime green colored apparatus that the department operated.
