The Gary Fire Department operated this 1914 American La France Type 14-6 Chemical and Ladder apparatus. It carried ALF Serial #738. It had a 50 gallon chemical tank and a large assortment of ground ladders plus truck tools. It ran as Truck Co. No. 1 until 1927 when it was replaced by a Magirus 85′ rear mount aerial.from the collection of wayne stuart

The Gary Fire Department operated this 1950 American La France pumper Serial #L-4034. It had a 1000-GPM pump and a 300-gallon tank. It also carried a 40Ft. and a 38 Ft. ladder as well as a 24 Ft. and a 12 Ft roof ladder. It ran as Engine Company No. 7 in Miller for many years.wayne stuart collection

The Gary Fire Department operated this 1909 Seagrave horse drawn ladder truck. It was one of only two horse-drawn apparatus operated by the GFD. This apparatus carried Seagrave serial #3758. It ran as Truck Company #1 until 1916wayne stuart collection

The Gary Fire Department operated this 1909 Seagrave Serial # 3759. It was originally purchased for the police department as a paddy wagon. It was converted into a chemical engine and assigned to Engine Company 5 when Station 5 in Glen Park was opened in 1915.wayne stuart collection
