Lockport Township FPD news

From the Lockport Township Fire Protection District Will County, IL Board of Trustees Meeting – Minutes of the Regular Meeting October 24, 2018

Information Item 18-40 Pierce Fire Apparatus Corrosion Issues

Chief Hertzmann and Mechanic Drajin went to Weyauwega to conduct a final inspection on E2 on Wednesday, October 17th. A couple minor mechanical issues were discovered and addressed. The truck was shipped back and received on Thursday, October 18th.

Action Item 18-08 IGA with Romeoville EMA Command Van

Romeoville EMA has offered the use of their new Command Van to the Fire District within our areas of the Village of Romeoville since it has gone into service. After further discussions with the EMA Director and the Village, they have offered the vehicle for our use for any large scale event district wide.

Chief Hertzmann handed out paperwork showing the construction schedule for Station 3. The plan is to start on the outside first before the weather changes on November 15th. They are waiting for permits. Trustee Randich wanted to go on record that he would like to see everyone moved out of Station 3 during the removal of the mold and the construction phase for safety reasons. Chief Hertzmann will be putting together an operational plan for the move and will besending it to the Trustee’s via email for their approval.
