From a working Still Alarm & Level 1 Hazmat at 110th Place and Loomis around 11:30 Thursday morning (3/22/18). Some type of explosion occurred, partial collapse on C & D sides. 2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 12-26-17 (more)

This from Steve Redick:

Took in this job at 6119 S Wolcott from an immense distance away and arrived just as the master streams were setting up. Very cold, single digits. Hoarder conditions forced an early shift to defensive mode. TL39 used some creative apparatus placement to get their master stream in service. Here’s a few images, not really spectacular but some good gritty firefighting images. All the images and a video can be seen here:

Happy new year to all.

This from Drew

23 Sep 17- The 5th Battalion and companies were stilled out at approximately 0645 hours. While en route, the Englewood FAO announced a Still & Box at this location for reports of people trapped inside the building. Engine Co. 84 and Truck Co. 51 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire in the rear of a 3 story ordinary apartment building. Battalion 5 got on scene shortly after and reported fire through the roof. A 2-11 Alarm was requested by 2-2-1 who pulled all companies out of the building due to dangerous fire conditions. (5) 2-1/2” lines were led out while Tower Ladder 37 and Squad Co. 5’s Snorkel worked elevated master streams. Engine Co. 84, Engine Co. 45, and Engine Co. 50 utilized their deck guns.
