This from Eric Haak:
Companies in Chicago’s 6th Battalion had a diffiult rescue situation at 53rd and Union Sunday afternoon (6/2). A tree trimmer was stuck hanging upside down at a reasonable height with a fractured leg. Truck 18 positioned itself to use their ladder to support the victim until Squad 5 and Tower Ladder 39 could arrive and assist. With the man’s weight being supported on 18’s aerial, the slow task of untangling him began. TL39’s basket was eventually maneuvered underneath and the man lowered to safety. The entire process took about 45 minutes. The only access TL39 had was to use a vacant lot that was very soft with the drenching rain we have been having. They used fence posts that were being installed on the lot to stabalize the rig.

This from Eric Haak:
Chicago Still & Box Alarm: The 19th Battalion landed with this job a little after 10 this morning (1/12). Images here were taken about 40 minutes in. Companies worked throughout a steady snowfall. After initial interior efforts, companies went defensive. Truck 20 was originally in front of the building but was moved in order to bring in Tower Ladder 39 to fight the remaining fire in the cockloft.

This from Eric Haak:
At a little after 0300 Sunday morning (12/23), Engine 101 landed with a fire in a 1-story, 65×100 truss roof trucking company at 74th and Bell Avenue. Battalion 20 boxed the fire less than a minute later and it would eventually be raised to a 2-11 Alarm. The building was a total loss. Engines 101, 15, 123, and 54 were all pumping at this incident and Tower Ladders 39 and 54 along with Squad 5’s Snorkel were in use as well.
