Here are a couple shots from the fire yesterday in Englewood. I arrived after most of the fire was knocked down. 84, 54, 116, and 50 were all pumping with 116 and 50 in their new rigs.

This from Rob Groszewski:
From a working Still Alarm & Level 1 Hazmat at 110th Place and Loomis around 11:30 Thursday morning (3/22/18). Some type of explosion occurred, partial collapse on C & D sides. Companies were defensive until Peoples Gas could secure the area. Sq-5 snorkel and several hand lines were in use. Neighbors report the building was vacant.

This from Steve Redick:
Took in this job at 6119 S Wolcott from an immense distance away and arrived just as the master streams were setting up. Very cold, single digits. Hoarder conditions forced an early shift to defensive mode. TL39 used some creative apparatus placement to get their master stream in service. Here’s a few images, not really spectacular but some good gritty firefighting images. All the images and a video can be seen here:Happy new year to all.

23 Sep 17- The 5th Battalion and companies were stilled out at approximately 0645 hours. While en route, the Englewood FAO announced a Still & Box at this location for reports of people trapped inside the building. Engine Co. 84 and Truck Co. 51 arrived on scene and reported heavy fire in the rear of a 3 story ordinary apartment building. Battalion 5 got on scene shortly after and reported fire through the roof. A 2-11 Alarm was requested by 2-2-1 who pulled all companies out of the building due to dangerous fire conditions. (5) 2-1/2” lines were led out while Tower Ladder 37 and Squad Co. 5’s Snorkel worked elevated master streams. Engine Co. 84, Engine Co. 45, and Engine Co. 50 utilized their deck guns. Searches could not be completed due to structural integrity of the building. Companies also battled high humidity and high 80s temperature. Still Alarm companies: E84 E47 T51 T30 BN5 Sq5 2-7-5 RIT BN6 T15, A55 A36 4-5-8.
