This from Eric Haak:
The Pembroke Fire Protection District had a 3rd Alarm Interdivisional Brush Box on Monday (2/20). This came in just around 1030 hrs and lasted well into the afternoon. The area effected was about 1 square mile of overgrowth and woodlands between 5000 and 6000 south roads east of Illinois 56. There were several structures that were in jeopardy. The 3rd image shows the arrival of the Interdivisional convoy. The 4th image shows the MABAS 19 drone being used to assess the progress from the air. This is just an example of how this new technology can be used and it was highly effective at this incident due to the hilly nature of the terrain. For those who are not from the area, Pembroke is a township southeast of Kankakee, Illinois. It is a rural area where many of the residents live in dilapidated structures and mobile homes. These brush fires are common in this area because there is no garbage pick-up and residents routinely burn their trash. The images with fire showing are of the back-burning that was done along the South side of East 5000 Road.

Happened on a small job in what I think was Spring Grove. There was a massive header due to rubber play matting that was burning. The Spring Grove tanker is one massive rig!

This from Larry Shapiro:
The Lake Zurich Fire Department responded to a field of cattails burning Sunday in Hawthorn Woods. The field was surrounded by homes and access to opposite sides of the field was several blocks away. They requested a MABAS Box Alarm for assistance and later upgraded to the 2nd Alarm due to the large area and access issues. The address used for the incident was 8 Westwind Court.
I arrived after the 2nd Alarm companies to find the fire was already out. Here are the few images that I took at the scene.

On 4-4-15, Streamwood companies responded to a brush fire in the wooded area south of Deerfield Dr. The fire was quickly knocked, and cleared within a few hours. A general callback was started however, resulting in duplicate companies on-scene including both ambulance 32, and reserve ambulance 32.

Josh Boyajian and I happened to be in Kankakee County taking rig shots when the Pembroke FPD pulled a 3rd Alarm for a brush fire at 2600 South & 13000 East. They had approx. 50 acres going along with several abandoned vehicles, trailers, and mobile homes plus a large amount of tires. Command upgraded to the 4th Alarm then requested a Strike Team from MABAS 37. The area is mostly forest with lots of hills and homes scattered throughout.Dennis McGuire

This from Brad Steinweg:
I was driving home from work when I saw a few trees on fire on State Line RD. I called dispatch and reported it and stayed until well after FD arrival. The property owner was not home and the next door house was vacant and boarded up. Mutual aid was called from Lake Dalecarlia, Lake Hills and St. John.-Brad S.

Here are a few shots from the 2nd Alarm Brush Box Monday (3/30/15) in Homer Township. The staging for this incident was at Cedar Road & Bruce Rd in the Forest Preserve. I also included a picture of their newer E-One engine.

Here are some photos of the 2nd Alarm Brush fire in Homer Glenn on Monday (3/30/15). I made it about 10 minutes after the 2nd alarm and by then they had it under control, but it looked like they had a couple acres going at one point.
