The attached photo of CFD Engine 5 is incorrectly identified on chicagoareafire as Chicago Engine 5.

It is actually Corona, California Engine 5.

From Nunda Rural Fire Protection District on Facebook:

On Saturday, October 15 at 9:35AM, the Nunda Rural Fire Protection District responded to the 2000 block of Route 176 for the reported structure fire. Firefighters arrived on scene within 3 minutes and confirmed a large two-story abandoned house was fully engulfed.

The fire was considered under control within 60 minutes. Firefighters performed overhaul and monitored hotspots for an additional two hours. The house is considered a total loss and no preliminary damage estimates are available at this time. There were no reported injuries to any civilians or firefighters during the incident.

The Nunda Rural FPD and McHenry County Sheriff’s Office are actively investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the fire.

We greatly appreciated the assistance from our neighboring districts!
