The Calumet City Fire Department operated this 1965 American LaFrance pumper. It had a 1000 GPM pump and a 758 Gallon tank. It ran as Engine Company 303 for a number of years.

A beautiful classic to be sure.
No mistaking a 900 series and that line lasted well into the 1970’s.
AMERICAN LaFRANCE had such a very long history of quality problems so while it’s surprising they stayed in business as long as they did, it was sad to see them exit the stage. That EAGLE while obviously a piece of junk, sure bore a resemblance to the 900.
