River Forest Fire Department news

This from Dan McInerney:

The River Forest FD responded to William and Holly Court Monday afternoon (1/9/17) for a man stuck in a construction lift. A River Forest Forestry Department arborist was stuck in a Hi-Ranger articulating boom approx. 25 feet off the ground when the motor on the vehicle died, and they were unable to lower the boom. River Forest FD T219 responded and raised their main and brought the arborist down.

Truck fire in Lake Forest, 1-7-17

This from Niko Stefani:

The Lake Forest Fire Department was called to southbound Rt 41 just north of Deerpath Road near the hospital entrance for a semi that was on fire. The driver was able to detach his trailer that was loaded with cheese. Dispatchers advised the en route companies that the rear breaks were on fire. Battalion 42 arrived with a fully involved trailer. Rt. 41 was shut down and traffic was being redirected down Gage Ln. There were issues establishing a water supply, Engine 422 laid a supply from the hospital out to the scene. Ernie’s Wrecker Service responded to retrieve the trailer. IDOT was requested to make a few passes with salt due to the frigid temperatures. Companies on the scene from Lake Forest: Squad Co. 421, Engine Co. 422, Ambulance 421, Utility 421, and Battalion 42. Lake Bluff Engine Co. 4519 and Knollwood Engine Co. 44. Thanks.

2-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 1-8-17 (part 3)

This from Drew Gresik:

Here are some quick images from Sunday morning’s 2-11 on the West Side. Engine 117 and the tower arrived and found heavy fire in the rear and in the attic of a 2.5 story balloon frame. Battalion 18 quickly requested a Still & Box and 2-2-4 requested a 2-11 a short time later. The fire got into the D-side exposure building but that structure was largely saved by the companies operating on scene. Tower 14 and Squad 2 worked elevated master streams, and several handlines were utilized as well.
