Peotone ambulance chassis for sale

2009 Ford F450 two wheel drive. Vehicle was an ambulance with the box removed. No emergency lights. Minor dings, some holes where emergency lights were mounted. Door stickers need to be removed. Interior has some minor blemishes. Air conditioning does not work due to box being removed and the lines not plugged. Air ride rear, spring front. New front passenger tire, others fair. Regular maintenance while in service as an ambulance. Pickup only, buyer Is responsible for shipping or pickup.

I took advantage of a slow Saturday (6/17) to go see some rigs that I do not normally get an opportunity to see. Far south suburban Manhattan Fire Protection District was training in a fairly large late-1800’s farm house which is currently owned by the park district. Once the training was over, the old house was burned to the ground. It was kind of an interesting setup as there was a historic round barn which needed to be protected so they had Peotone’s Truck 14 set up and ready just in case of an emergency.

Peotone put the new Engine 14 in service on 8-22-16.

It is a 2015 Smeal/UST 1,500-GPM and carries 2,500 gallons of water. This engine replaces the 1995 Pierce Saber and the 1988 Mack/SPI tanker.

I finally got a chance to take this in. It was very nice, much bigger than I expected. Rig shots were very hard to come by but got some cool stuff. The engine lettered for Rockdale does not belong to them from what I understand. I was happy to finally get to see the Peotone Snorkel.

PFC Aaron Toppens funeral in Mokena

Yesterday was PFC Aaron Toppens’ funeral in Mokena. Mokena Fire Protection District requested change of quarters companies to cover both sides of Wolf Rd which was being used for the procession from the church to the cemetery. Frankfort, Peotone, Homer Twp, Manhattan, New Lenox, and Palos Heights were there.
