Chicago police officers were sent to investigate a burglar alarm around 7:30AM on Thursday (6/1/17) at 2945 N. Milwaukee Avenue where they discovered a fire inside the furniture store. Firefighters arrived to smoke and fire in the two-story, 100×125 brick building with a partial bow-truss roof and glass storefront. Companies were eventually pulled from the building and initiated a defensive attack. The alarm was raised to a 2-11 and then a 3-11 with elevated master streams from Tower Ladder 21, Tower Ladder 23, Squad 2A, and 6-6-1, the reserve Snorkel.
Multiple contributors were at the scene and will be submitting images and video.

Photos from Steve Redick of the 5-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 11-5-16
Saturday early am at 26th & Kostner. Large vacant industrial building well involved on arrival. Several collapses occurred early in the incident. Access was good with large vacant lots on 2 sides of the complex. Several tower ladders and master streams were used. Most of the building was down by the time I arrived, the uninvolved section later burned in spectacular fashion a few hours after I “picked up”. There was no indication at the time I left that the fire had invaded that area. All the images and video can be seen here
