it’s a 1967 1000/500 Serial# 80-174

This is Engine 705 a 1967 WLF 1000 gpm with a 500 tank.
Serial# 80-174. This was replaced by the Pierce engine.

I agree with you that it’s a late 60’s era Ambassador but it does have the “Newtown Treatment” on the Roof.

Not 100% sure, but from the looks of the cab, I’d say that this is rather a 1960s rig, the 70s models had slightly different side windows and some other details like the miniature grille above the front bumper etc…
