This from Dennis McGuire, Jr.
The Robbins Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 3533 W. 135th St yesterday and Engine 2913 found a one-sty frame 25×50 with heavy fire in the rear. With automatic aid responding, which included Calumet Park, Markham, Garden Homes FPD, & Phoenix, they were able to knock the fire quickly. Three firefighters were transported to Metro South Hospital with minor injuries.

It varies all over. Robbins gets this response on a reported fire.
West suburbs use the general alarm which is equal to the southside full still.
I see both as the old box alarm. Seems everyone basically added ablevel with the working fire or full still level.

Good fireground shots. Thanks.
For a lot of suburban departments, the working fire box appears to be the old “box alarm”. Do they still separate a working fire box from a second alarm, we need help box? In other words, after pulling the working fire box, if they needed more help, would they pull a 2-11 or would they pull a box? Has it become like the CFD high rise response, in that a still and box is, for all intent and purpose, a 2-11?
I know this may vary from dept. to dept. and district to district, but there are some general guidelines? Just trying to get a better feel for what I hear on the scanner.
Thanks in advance for any replies.
I must admit the red T-Shirts look pretty sharp and an easy way to indentify Robbin’s FFs on the fireground.

Phoenix is auto-aid into Robbins? Interesting
