Martin and Josh found this 75′ quint on the Pierce Flickr page listed for Elgin, IL. (job #25023)
More information about this can be found HERE and HERE.
Also, from Josh:
I want to share this other rig, its not from Illinois but take a look at the logo on the driver door! I thought this was funny.
Thanks Josh

When will the new Quint be in service at Elgin Station 7?

I am amazed that anyone could possibly care about this. Some podunk towns copy a logo of a bog city fire department and people are bothered by it? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…

I think the point being made here is…this dept could at least come up with their own unique scramble…

What can you do with the letters c,f,d and make it look different fontwise .fdc , cfd.

Nowadays every rig looks alike anyway, white over red , black over red , all red, theres no fire department characteristic anymore . On the east coast you get some different colors, but thats starting to fade away too, so sooner or later , someone is going to copy someone elses design, be on accident or on purpose . THERES only so much you can do with the color red .

In my opinion who cares if they have the same logo as Chicago.

It does matter, this is a Chicago Fire Department logo. I think it’s kinda suspicious when the font they use and the overall design is just 100% the same as the CFD logo. You could easily ask then what really matters at all. I think that they could try to have their own logo not somebody elses, simple as that.

Some departments copy just about everything BUT the logo : )
I can think of one in the area!

Does it really what department matter uses it , if your department starts with the letter c , you are going to use some version similar to it and as far as i know there no copyright to it .

I’ve seen a few departments using it

No way! Never seen any other dept. using the origial CFD logo, looks like they don’t really bother with inventing their own.
