An interesting video on the hazards of responding. On December 31st, Phoenix Arizona Heavy Rescue 44 was hit by an intoxicated driver. Five firefighters managed to extricate themselves with the help of firefighters from other responding companies. There were several injured but no fatalities.

Three firefighters and a fourth person were injured in a traffic crash in the West Englewood neighborhood Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The engine crashed near 60th Street and Ashland Avenue, near a firehouse, about 10:40 a.m.
The firefighters were all taken to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, and the fourth person was taken to St. Bernard Hospital and Healthcare Center.
Everyone was listed in good-to-fair condition, authorities said. It’s not clear how the crash happened.

Scooped by the geezer, a report on the MVA Tuesday night involving CFD Engine 62 that injured a total of 10 including four firefighters.
Authorities say they suspect alcohol played a role in the collision between a Chicago fire truck and a carload of people in the Far South Side that injured 10 people.
None of the victims — including three children and four Chicago firefighters — suffered life-threatening injuries when the truck, responding to a fire call, collided with a mid-size sedan at Halsted and 128th streets, police said. A female passenger did suffer a broken neck, authorities said.
