Here are some shots of the 2-11 today.
This from Josh Boyajian:
Here are some of my shots from the 2-11 alarm this morning. I arrived well after the 2-11 was pulled. There was still a lot of fire underneath the part of the roof that didn’t collapse where companies had a hard time directing their water streams.

The former tower ladder from Calumet Park is going in service shortly with the Storey County Fire Department northeast of Carson City, Nevada. I know it was reported before about an oil company buying it so I’m not sure how this relates. The tower is being repainted blue with a white strip to match the department’s colors by Fire Trucks Unlimited. This is a link for updates on it’s progress. Here are a few photos from the work in progress site. Thanks to Garry Kadzielawski for passing on this information.Dennis

Starting in October, Lake County, Indiana fire departments and police departments will all be dispatched by one center. Motorola Solutions, Inc. and AT&T have been working on this for a year. Not all of the fire departments went online at once, but at the end of October all departments will be under the new center. I believe the center is located in Crown Point, Indiana. The numbering system is as follows:00 = Stations01-09= Officers10-19= Engines20-29= Trucks30-39= Rescues40-49= Tankers50-59= Specialty Units60-69= Ambulances70-79= Brush trucks80-99= Individual department membersThe following is a partial list of the departments and their assigned number(s):1200-Cedar Lake1500-Crown Point1800 to 2100-Dyer2200-Munster2500-East Chicago3100 to 3300-Griffith4100 to 4800-Hammond5100 to 5200-Highland5300 to 5600-Hobart5800-Lake Dale5900-Lake Hills6100-Lake Ridge6300 to 6400-Lake Station6600 to 6800-Lowell6900-New Chicago7000 to 7400-Merriville7500 to 7700-St. John7800 to 800-Schererville8200-Schnieder8300-Shelby8400-Whiting8500 to 9900-GaryDennis

I was able to attend the open house held yesterday (10/3/15) at the Fire Service Inc. headquarters in St. John, Indiana. On display were many demo rigs and some new deliveries for the area. Of interest were a rear engine pumper on a Quest HS chassis, E-One’s 78′, 105′, and 137′ rear mount aerials, and a 100′ tower ladder quint on the new Quest chassis. Local rigs on display were a Typhoon engine for Hometown, a Typhoon engine for Glencoe, and 14 new Ford E-350/Wheeled Coach ambulances for Chicago. (Ambulnaces 2, 8, 11, 17, 18, 21, 27, 37, 42, 62, 64, 68, 69 & 73)Dennis
