More from Dan McInerney:
On March 14, 1997, myself and a group of firebuffs from out of town visited Engine 91, Squad 2, and Battalion 7. Cortez Holland was the squad company officer that day, and couldn’t have been nicer. Shortly after our visit, he got promoted to BC. They pulled the rig around the to the parking lot and gave us rides in the Snorkel. We then took in a still on Fullerton with them and the 7th, which turned out to be nothing. Afterwards, we drove by E124’s house just as they were starting a drill with T38. We also showed them the T58 memorial park.

This from Larry Shapiro:
I was in the neighborhood when the 7th Battalion pulled up on a working fire in a three-story, brick apartment building at 3111 W. Diversey. They had rear porches going with extension to a two-story house behind the building on Troy. He asked for a Box Alarm and companies made quick work of knocking down the fire.
I arrived before the Box Alarm companies to find crews washing down hotspots.
