Alsip Fire Department History

For TBT, I found this picture on the Alsip F.D. Facebook page.  Here is a picture of something I did not know they owned, a 1960’s Jeep FC-170.  Looks like a Chicago F.D. unit from the 1960’s.  Is it?  Anyone know?  Enjoy and comment.

  Don’t know any details about this rig but this definitely wasn’t a CFD unit even if it was rebuilt by Alsip F.D. as almost all of the CFD Jeeps did have much shorter chassis. The only exceptions were the Smoke Ejector and the Mars Light Wagon, but from this picture it looks like this rig has a slightly different chassis than any of these two rigs.
