This from Dan McInerney:
I took this in on the way home from work the other day. It was on the ramp that connects the westbound Kennedy to the northbound Tri-State tollway, just south of the toll plaza. Its always nice to see Rosemont’s rigs on the move with their Roto-Rays operating.

Mr Mcinerney I noted your information about station 77 on Chicagoareafire. My father John Schwartz I believe worked with your grandfather John at 77. I’m tried to get as much information together as much possible.
Can you help
Thanks in advance
John Schwartz

Believe me Fred, I can get crabby but hey, it keeps my mind going. I’m not all blasting ROTORAY but that device along with an old fashioned “Q” siren, AC you now know why alternators on fire apparatus have increased in size in amps.

Crabby is on target with his description. Google “roto ray emergency light” images for a visual.

I think that’s a set of 3 lights that’s mounted on a wheel that spins. But it doesn’t cause all of your troubles to go down the drain.

What is a ROTO-RAY?
Any relation to ROTO-ROOTER?
