How come tender 463 isn’t the front line engine, are they going to refurb the current e462, which has to be 20yrs old now? I can see them ordering an ascendant in the future due to the size of their district

This is going to station 2 to become E462, current E462 is going to take the place of Q463 and become E463

the only place i have ever seen the ladder on the driver side is florida because it does not get in the way of the trees

They do run rescue engines with extrication equipment. That is an odd choice never see ladders on the left side. With the advent of e-draulics I don’t see any reason to be having a gas or electric pump and reels?

Did anyone else notice that the ladder chute is on the driver’s side instead of the usual officer’s side? Guess they opted to have full depth compartments on the officer’s side. Maybe for extrication equipment?

I’m glad to see they didn’t opt for the TAK-4.

Which unit will this Engine replace? Will it replace the Quint at station 3 or the Engine at station 2? Do they still have any Quantum’s in frontline service?
