You never know what the rig assignments will be with Orland. They have a tendency of changing them last minute. They’ve done that for years.
They have 8 ambos, 6 frontline 2 spares. 5 Ambulances are in service all the time, 6 if manning allows.
They have a another maintenance facility but no mechanics (or not enough mechanics…only 1) .
Mike, Orland used to remount ambulances regularly. They have gotten away from it as it wasn’t cost effective.

So reading Orland’s budget this was around 220,000.00 and each year they replace and ambulance and budget 10% more. The cost of apparatus is absolutely insane. I have a feeling many departments are going to be looking into remounts on ambulances and maybe even glider kits for fire apparatus. Most departments budgets don’t increase enough yearly to sustain apparatus replacement at a 10-15% increase every year.

Bill who was assigned this new ambulance?

This new ambulance should be going to station 5. They just ordered another new one that will be going to station 4 when complete. The tower ladder has been sold and a new Pierce one is on order. Truck 7, the old truck 4, is getting a whole new frame due to rust. They will be running with one truck for a while. The E-One truck I hear has nothing but problems and is always out of service. The new Pierce engine is not much better. Their new maintenance fleet facility should be done by summer hopefully.

The E-One ladder isn’t holding up well, the new Pierce engine isn’t holding up well. Tower has been for sale. They have approval for a new Pierce tower. Anytime you see numbers higher than a 6 on the rigs, it’s a spare.
