The ALF 700 Chassis stayed in product until the introduction of the 900 Series but only for aerial devices. The 800 Series was only used for the construction of pumpers but was short lived due to the development of the 900 Series

I remember it hitting a La Grange police car on the way into the fire block for an attic fire. Nosed onto the front yard when they got on the scene.

I know the difference but I thought they stopped building the 700 in 1956. Thanks.

Crabby yes that’s a 700, if you google 700 series ALF and 900 Series ALF you’ll see the difference.

Are you sure that’s a 700 series? ALF I believe stopped building the 700 in 1956 and began the 900 in 1958 after the very short lived 800. I will be happy to stand corrected if my timeline is wrong. Doesn’t really look that bad for all the sitting outside for who knows how long.

This rig was originally an open cab. There are pictures of it in the LaGrange Pet parade showing that.
