This from Larry Shapiro for #TBT:
Here are several shots from a 3-11 Alarm fire and EMS Plan 1 at 4344 N Winchester that occurred on 12/6/01. Featured are older apparatus, many of which were new at the time and are now gone or in reserve status. One shot features all three LTI tower ladders in near mint condition. Squad 2 and Tower 5 were less than a year old at the time.

I don’t check this blog very regularly, but I happened on it today and was surprised by this entry. This is the fire that put me off the job. I would like to get a copy of the scene, if possible.

Kind of funny that something in 2001 is “vintage” but I suppose it is. That is only 2 of the HMEs. TL 5 was an ALF/LTI but they do look good lined up. Must have all been special called to that fire unless 21 and 23 were unavailable. Montrose and Winchester should have been TL 21 on the still and 23 on the 2-11. Love the old pics, Larry!! Thank you for sharing!

Thanks for sharing Larry. Nice to see the old Seagrave truck and Ford E-One engine at work

Was there ever a group photo of the three HME/LTI’s?
