This from Wayne Stuart for #TBT:
The Brookfield Fire Department operated this 1970 Seagrave / Snorkel. It had a 1250 GPM pump and was an 85 footer. Big Mo might enjoy this photo.

Don’t know if enjoy was the right word, but it is a cool piece of history. A real bear to drive, even after they replaced the 12 cyl. gas motor with a Detroit diesel and an automatic. It was a ’68 FWD Pierce body with a 2 stage pump. It used to operate at extra alarm fires in Lyons a lot. Was sold to an outfit in southern Indiana when they got the 2001 E-One 100′ rearmount. It wouldn’t fit on the lowboy truck they had arranged for, so they drove it back themselves. Ouch. thanks for the memories.

That’s beautiful. You don’t see many red SNORKEL’s mostly grey or white.
