Crystal Lake firefighters responded about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday to the 400 block of Nash Road in Crystal Lake for a structure fire called in by an occupant of the residence.
When
first respondersfirefighters arrived at 10:45 p.m., they saw flames coming from the front of the single-story home. Additional assistance was requested from 10 other fire departments.The fire quickly was extinguished and no one was injured. The home sustained smoke damage throughout and the damage is estimated to be more than $25,000. The Crystal Lake Building Department deemed the home uninhabitable.
Firefighters from Algonquin-Lake in the Hills, McHenry, Barrington Countryside, West Dundee, Carpentersville, Marengo, Huntley, Cary, Wauconda, and Nunda Rural assisted.
