Sebastian- They did not take the basket off. Read the previous comments. It was sold to Western Springs when Broadview bought the ALF Chassis/Grumman Aerial Cat 102′ tower ladder. Div 7 (now part of Div 20) was unique in that they had 4 Grumman Aerial Cats out of the 7 departments in the division (Broadview, Melrose Park, Hillside and Bellwood). Besides the 4 Grumman rigs, Westchester had the other unique aerial (for our area) which was a mid-mount Maxim aerial. Maywood had the Hendrickson/LTI. The only town of the 7 not to have an aerial was Berkeley.

It left Western Springs for Hickory Point Fire Protection District, after they received their new Aerial several years ago, I am unaware of where it went next….

It also served in Western Springs after Broadview took delivery of their ALF tower. WSFD then sold it when they received their current Pierce 105′ rearmount. Don’t know where it is now. somewhere down south, I think.
