Excerpts from the DailyHerald.com:

The Aurora Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own. Firefighter/Paramedic Michael Adamovich, 38, a six-year veteran of the department, died unexpectedly in his Yorkville home early Sunday, city officials said.

“We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected loss of one of our brothers,” Chief Gary Krienitz said in a statement. “We are a family here at the Aurora Fire Department, and we will do our best to support his family during this tragic time.”

Adamovich, who was originally from Naperville, previously worked as a firefighter in Elburn from 2003 to 2010. As an Aurora firefighter, he was recently assigned to work out of Engine 10 on the city’s west side.

Adamovich’s cause of death is unknown, Krienitz said, but more information will be gathered over the next few days. An autopsy at the Kendall County Coroner’s Office is pending.

Adamovich is survived by his wife, Rachel, and his two sons, Nathan, 10, and Colin, 8. Service arrangements are pending.

“He was a great firefighter and paramedic and a great man,” Krienitz said. “Mike will truly be missed.”
