What happened to the ’91 Grumman Aerialcat (old Truck 1)?

Michael M – The new engine (replacing current E2) should be here within the next month and will basically be a clone of E5. Joe – This will be replacing both the engine and truck out of station 1. Truck 1 will be a dedicated truck company, no longer a jump company. I’m not sure what’s going to happen to current E1, whether it will stay as a reserve or be sold. I believe current E2 will become a reserve engine, but don’t quote me on it. We do currently have 1 reserve engine (E6).

Will this replace both the engine and tower ladder at station 1 or will the new engine be put in service there as well? It’s currently a jump company, seems like they’d save money by just eliminating one piece of apparatus, although that’s certainly not best for the residents of Bolingbrook.
