A reader previously notified us that Wilmette has placed a tower ladder in each station and has done the same with engines. Larry Shapiro submitted images (which have not yet been updated on the site) showing the units lettered for Tower 27 and Engine 26.

This sounds like musical chairs for the fire department when they keep alternating fire companies in service at Wilmette’s stations . How often do they alternate between Engine and Tower Ladder 26 and Engine and Tower Ladder 27. Do they change the assignments every other day, every other week or every other month?
