Person In The Water / Dive Rescue Response
In the 0600 hour Tuesday morning the Main Fire Alarm received a report of a person who jumped into the North Branch of the Chicago River at Diversey Avenue.  Divers from 688 & CPD Marine 6 were deployed.  The incident lasted about an hour with nothing found.  Thanks Dan Shevlin

New ambulance in Winnetka

Winnetka has a new unit for Ambulance 28. This was reportedly the second to last unit to be built by Medtec. It is a Type I on a 2012 IHC 4300 chassis and carries Medtec shop order #26264-1.

Winnetka Fire Department Ambulance 28R

This is now Ambulance 28R (noted by a small ‘R’ by the number 28). It is a 2007 Type I Medtec on a Freightliner M2106 chassis. Larry Shapiro photo

The previous unit assigned as Ambulance 28R was a 2000 Type I Road Rescue on a Freightliner FL70 chassis. That unit was sold to the Antioch Fire Department.
