There is an old Cicero house at 49Ave and 30Place. It is a 2-story masonry building lettered Station 4. It covers half the block length-wise, it has 10 full size windows. because of its size I would think it housed a ladder company. My wife was born and raised “litterally” in the 3200 block of 53 Ave in 56, there was an influx of building in that period in the Hawthorn area. My wife says mabe E-4 was built in the early 50’s to service the area.

In 1937 Cicero brought a ALF Series 400 tractor to replace a worn out tractor. In 1952 they purchased a 85′ metal aerial trailer from ALF and hooked it up to the 400 Series tractor. In 1956 Cicero purchased a ALF Series 700 tractor. Info courtesy of Walt McCall’s book, American Fire Egines, page 164.
