This from Steve Redick at the 3-Alarm fire in Rolling Meadows:
A distant northwest suburb of Chicago (Rolling Meadows). Fire in a large apartment complex … poor access to 3 sides of the building and difficult water supply. Extreme cold, heavy snow and ice cover. A resident jumped from the 3rd floor and did not survive. Fire destroyed a large portion of the building but was apparently held at a fire wall. Two elevated master streams, a deck gun, and several handlines were used. The aerial view gives an idea of the size and limited access to the fire building. Interesting to note the daylight photo is from a major fire within this same complex several years ago with a similar outcome, but in much better weather conditions.
