LODD – Marengo FD Captain Steve Berry

The Marengo Fire/Rescue Districts is saddened to announce the Line of Duty Death of Captain Steven Berry.  Captain Berry was a retired Lieutenant of the Elgin Fire Department and current member of the Marengo Fire/Rescue Districts.   Captain Berry passed away early Tuesday morning with his family by his side after a valiant 14 month battle with liver cancer.

Services for Captain Berry will be held at the Harvest Bible Chapel located at 1000 N. Randall Rd. Elgin IL. 60123.

Visitation will be held from 1500 – 2100 hours on Monday July 18^th, 2016, with a fire department walk through at 1830 hours.  Fire Department members are asked to report for line up at 1800 hours. 

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday July 19^th beginning at 10am, at Harvest Bible Chapel with a procession and graveside service to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Elgin. 

Any department wishing to assist with apparatus should arrive at 0900 at the church.  Departments with apparatus are asked to contact Elgin Assistant Chief Dave Schmidt at (847) 417-6044.
