The Chicago Tribune has an article about yet another Chicago paramedic assaulted by the patient being treated.
A suburban Glenview man was ordered held on $75,000 bail Sunday after prosecutors said he attacked a paramedic who was trying to help him Friday night.
Henry N. Taylor, 23, of the 600 block of Raleigh Road, is charged with felony aggravated battery in the incident, which took place near the corner of North Dearborn and West Erie streets in Chicago’s Near North area, according to court records. Paramedics found Taylor lying in the street, “face down, apparently intoxicated” Friday night, according to court records.
While waiting for an ambulance, Taylor jumped up and attacked the 31-year-old male paramedic, who was treated and released for bruises he sustained in the incident, according to Assistant State’s Attorney Mary Hain and court records.
Police responded and found the paramedic and a witness restraining Taylor.
“(Expletive) you,” Taylor said, adding a few racial epithets as well, according to Hain. “I have money. I’m a millionaire.”
