Bill Friedrich submitted a historical image showing Elk Grove Township‘s former Squad 345 which was recently converted into Squad 11 by fire department personnel. They removed the tank, booster pump and hose reel to add additional storage space for the squad apparatus.

Bill Friedrich photographed Elk Grove Township Squad 11 which was missing from the site. This unit was recreated by members of the fire department. Now a technical rescue and haz mat squad, the unit previously had a 600-GPM pump and carried 300 gallons of water with 20 gallons of foam.

2009 Freightliner M2106/Midwest Fire 500/2000
Elk Grove Township Station 11 has placed a new 2000 gallon elliptical tanker built by Midwest Tank into service. The single axle unit is built on a Freightliner M2106 chassis, has a 500GPM PTO pump, carries a Porta-Tank and features pump-and-roll capabilities.
