Here are some images from a working fire on the corner of 90th and Marshfield this morning (1/2). A valiant effort was made to save the family dog with CPR being performed for 15 minutes but to no avail.

This from Steve Redick:
An hour or so after I left the 2-11 on Clark St another fire came in in the 6400 block of Ravenswood a few short blocks away. The fire involved a building complex housing an auto repair shop, furniture company, and some apartments. When I arrived there was not much to see and the only interesting shots had to be taken directly into the sun and in some smoke conditions. All the images are here:Steve

The second of two 2-11 Alarm fires in Chicago on 12/22/18 was at 6417 N Ravenswood Avenue (more)
This from Chi-Town Fire Photos:
This was the 2nd fire of the day. Originally dispatched E43 for rubbish, until the MFAO told them they were going to upgrade it to a full still. I left the fire on Clark Street and headed to this. They found a 1-sty auto body shop, with smoke coming out of everywhere. They lead out and forced entry into a door on side B where they encountered heavy smoke. They attempted to make a push but were pulled out by the chief who immediately pulled a box. Companies went defensive. A very stubborn fire, with little progress to be made for a while. After putting the box companies to work and due to a lack of resources in staging, they pulled a 2-11. Fire ended up burning through the roof but they kept the fire from spreading to adjoining exposures. 8+ hand lines and 2 aerial master streams were used at the height of the fire.

I took in the 2-11 on Clark Street Saturday and arrived about 40 minutes into the fire. Totally defensive at that time. Numerous hand lines and master streams working. I took some shots of the new Engines 59 and 71 pumping as well as Engines 102 and 70. New TL 21 was set up and ready to go but I don’t think they ever flowed any water.

This from Steve Redick:
Quite a day Saturday. Three 2-11s, two back to back a few blocks apart, and one later at night on the south side. This first job I believe may have come in as a single-engine response, maybe a transformer. Engine 102 found a deep seated basement fire in a commercial building. There was a brief Mayday response, but allegedly a misinterpreted emergency alert for evacuation. All this took place prior to my arrival and near as I can tell no one was hurt. The fire had a widely varying smoke condition with heavy smoke issuing from both the front and rear at different times. Squad 2 utilized their basket for a ground level master stream and there was also a multiversal set up in the rear. Of note was the brand new TL 21 at it’s first working job but I don’t believe they ever flowed water although it was raised. The last one shows how close this was to the former quarters of Engine 102 at 1723 Greenleaf.Steve Redick

This from Eric Haak:
At 0445 Sunday morning (12/23), Engine 75 landed at 117th and LaSalle Street and reported they had a fire in a 2.5-story frame. A few minutes later, Battalion 22 asked for a box and stated he had fire in two buildings. There was a fair amount of fire in the attic of the frame structure as companies forced entry but they eventually were able to access the attic and knock it down before the fire could gain any headway.

This from Eric Haak:
Chicago had a 2-11 Alarm fire at 6417 N Ravenswood Saturday afternoon (12/22). The fire was in a 1-story commercial structure and was contained mostly to the 75×75 rear section that had a truss roof. The fire eventually burned through the roof and Tower Ladder 23 and the new Tower Ladder 21 were used to bring the fire under control.

This from Eric Haak:
At a little after 0300 Sunday morning (12/23), Engine 101 landed with a fire in a 1-story, 65×100 truss roof trucking company at 74th and Bell Avenue. Battalion 20 boxed the fire less than a minute later and it would eventually be raised to a 2-11 Alarm. The building was a total loss. Engines 101, 15, 123, and 54 were all pumping at this incident and Tower Ladders 39 and 54 along with Squad 5’s Snorkel were in use as well.
