Great drone video of the 3-11 Alarm fire in Chicago, 11-16-23

3-11 alarm fire of the Evans food factory on 41st and Halsted Chicago. Started at around 9 AM 11/16/2023. Secured at around noon. No injury or death.

Firefighters spent nearly three hours battling a 3-11 alarm fire Thursday morning at a warehouse in the Back of the Yards neighborhood at the Evans Food Group processing plant near 41st and Halsted.

Flames spread from the warehouse where it started to at least two connected buildings, and the roofs of all three buildings collapsed during the fire.

A worker at the plant said it is essentially a large kitchen that packs and ships food all over the country. McDonough said the warehouse stores pork products and grease that both helped fuel the blaze.

It was unclear how many employees were inside when the fire started but everyone got out safely prior to firefighters arriving.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

2 11 1212 north LSD. Water on the fire on 27 one injured firefighter.

Update. Injured firefighter in good shape. We have lost all elevators. Water on fire main body of fire is out. Some hot spots.

Second injured firefighter. Details will follow. Smoke still heavy on 27

McCormick Place, the 1960 exposition hall was destroyed in a spectacular fire on January 16, 1967, despite being thought fireproof by virtue of its steel and concrete construction.
