Thanks Rob. That does seem to make sense.

Hey crabby Milton. I figured it out….the q siren was in the middle because this truck originally came with dual electronic siren speakers on it. One on the driver side bumper corner, and one on the officers side bumper corner. Guess they lost one at some point.

Now know it was taken at a parade in Downers, my guess is, it was the 100th anniversary parade for the department that was held in like 1998. They had a ton of rigs from all over that came for the parade.

Downers grove…wow…that’s a good distance away for a parade. I was racking my brain trying to figure out the tower 14 connection. I happy it was from a good distance away because for the life of me i couldnt remember anyone around elmwood park that had a tower or the used the numeric 14. It amazing you can put a photo up here and someone always knows the backstory behind it.

Im trying to figure out who had a tower 14 in the area at that time. Based on the apartment in the background it almost looks like a schiller park type area. I know they use to do a lot of parades.

Does anyone have any idea what year or where this photo was taken? Looks like it is in a parade.

Bob, when it came there was no white stripe on it.

That might be the most compartments I’ve ever seen on a rig

Ah i can’t count the number of times this truck went past my house as a kid. Usually going to a fire alarm in Norwood Park. I’m knocking the rust off my brain with this one but i can’t remember if it came with the white stripe on it or if that was a later addition. Then it ended up in leyden (at least they didn’t paint it yellow).

Interesting but sharp looking E-ONE. Perhaps it’s just me but I never see too many with the Q mounted in the center like that.
