I visited Engine 42’s old house and was shocked to see the new doors on the west side of the building and the refurbished wood on the front of the house. The inside shots look they are working on the original bay doors. Looks to me like it is gonna be a restaurant or bar, anyone know?

Yes, They probably were narrow and spiral so the horses would not follow the firefighter’s upstairs. The older houses in Milwaukee are like that both curved at the top and bottom. John.

I took a picture back in ’17 & I’m pretty sure the side doors were there then

I think those are newer. This house probably had a spiral staircase

I wonder if the stairs were always like that while in service as a firehouse.
