From a reader:
Was biking on the lakefront and followed Squad 1 and the reserve 1A down the bike path to a dive response at Hollywood and LSD. Thought I heard the squad get released pretty quick over one of the guys' portables. Here's a few shots of the rigs there.

I am not a profesioanl photographer, nor do I carry a professional camera with me when I bike. However, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
No pro camera, Just an iphone 4S with the HDR setting turned on, and I wiped the lens off with my shirt first.

in reference to the view of 59 & t-47,, the bldg. in the background is (or was) the “edgewater beach apts” . the hotel was south of there and was torn down in the early 70s’ after being vacant for a few years , and suffering the usual fires. the edgewater and uptown area along the lake front at one time was an urban example of the south florida lifestyle,,grand hotels, tennis & pool clubs, mansions , etc. ,,, time, social deterioration and real estate developers took their toll.
dive jobs in the 9th bttn. occur with regularity, a long run for the boats, squad, dive team truck, and helicopter from 95th street.
members from those companies have over the years been involved in many rescues,,and recoveries.

I love the shot of Engine 59 and the buildings in the background. Do any of you remember this neighborhood in the days of the Edgewater Beach Hotel?
