Mike C
The Alsip engine is due very soon. The chief said, in the recent village newsletter, that it should be there by sometime in June.
#2 by Mike C on April 19, 2024 - 7:14 AM
I might be overlooking this but Alsip has a Seagrave engine on order.

Harry,
These will not be going to O’hare, they will likely be placed at 1-2 firehouses around the city so that we have access to a smaller rig if need be.

It sounds to me the f 550 fouts minis for Chicago would go to airports because by terminal 5 at O’Hare there is a huge parking garage going up

Riverside will be replacing Engine 1621. They will maintain Engine 1611 as their reserve Engine. I believe the 2003 Typhoon will be sold off.
Berwyn’s 2nd Engine on order will go to Engine 902 at the north house. They ordered it at a time where it would work in their favor with the current lead times. Quint 9Q1 is up at Pierce undergoing warranty work & rehab. They are currently maintaining two reserve pumpers and the Seagrave truck as reserve pieces. The have a very nice addition that is almost complete at the northside firehouse which will be maintenance bays/storage for their reserves. Which is much needed. Once the quint comes back from Pierce, Engine 911, the 1999 Saber will be disposed of.

Chicago recently has taken delivery of two 2024 Ford F-550/Fouts Bros. Fouts FOUR 300/15 Mini-pumpers that will go into service soon. It is predicted that they will be used for things such as the DNC, Nascar, Large city events, and possibly brush fires. These 2 rigs will have FDD- Shop numbers as all the engines do.

Chicago has recently taken delivery of 2 2024 Ford F-550/Fouts Bros. Fouts FOUR 300/15 mini-pumpers that will be in-service soon as specialty units. My best guess is that they were purchased in preparation for the DNC and Nascar, along with any other special events.

Aurora has 4 pumps and a ladder truck on order that will certainly keep their fleet up to date, anyone have an idea where these pumps will go maybe 1 to the new station 13??? once its built

Naperville TRT has been completed by LDV. There’s photos and specs on the LDV website.

This is fantastic! Very comprehensive!
Who is doing the new Grayslake rig?
Hoffman Estates has 3 new pumpers on order! Great to see! I don’t think Hoffman was happy with Ferrara.
In the midst of long lead times on deliveries, the apparatus market has become much more diversified.
Has it been confirmed that Highland Park ordered a Seagrave pumper? I don’t recall hearing anything on this.

Ted,
I did send in a list that has Tenders, Squads and Ambulances on it. I don’t know of any brush trucks on order, but I didn’t send in the specialty apparatus list but this is all I have so far:
4/2022 – Naperville TRT Truck
9/2023 – Lemont Hazmat Chevy
12/2023 – Antioch Dive F-750/Marion 22′ Walk In Dive Van
Rockford ARFF Oshkosh Striker 6×6
Mount Prospect Foam Truck

Is the Morton grove one an replacement for the quint or did they total the eone because it had an accident and was supposed to be oos for a year

I was told that Riversides new engine will replace Engine 1621 and I have the Barrington countryside tender added onto the tender PDF. It will be a E-One Cyclone Pumper/Tender.

Will the Riverside Pierce engine replace either the 1996 or 2003 E-One rig? Also, what is the new Berwyn Pierce pumper replacing?
#18 by Tom on April 8, 2024 - 8:16 PM
Barrington Countryside – February Meeting were going to approve purchase of a Tender Pumper. Not sure of details.

Morton Grove – E-one Cyclone emax pumper/squad.

Too avoid confusion:
Please disregard (1) of the (2) Riverside Engines & disregard (1) of the (2) Pleasantview Engines on this list. They currently only have (1) Pierce Enforcer on order for Riverside and only (1) Pierce Enforcer on order of Pleasantview. also ignore the Wood Dale Battalion that shouldn’t be on this list.

Alan,
I saw something about them having one on order, however I couldn’t find anything that confirmed it, so I didn’t add it on the list. I was told it was a Spartan/Fouts Brothers Engine.

Doesn’t Franklin Park have a Fouts Brothers engine on order? Or has the been delivered?
